The license for Iran to sell its oil has also been revoked.
The U.S. military launched strikes against Iran after projectiles hit three commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz near the Oman coast.
The U.S. military stated, “U.S. Central Command forces have begun launching a series of powerful strikes against Iran to impose heavy costs for targeting and attacking commercial shipping crewed by innocent civilians in an international waterway.”
The command announcement continued, “The U.S. strikes are in response to Iranian attacks on three commercial vessels that were transiting the Strait of Hormuz. Iran’s demonstrated aggression was unwarranted, dangerous, and a clear violation of the ceasefire.”
The United States Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) also revoked a license that permitted Iran to sell its oil under the interim ceasefire agreement.
